The Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek typically takes around 12-16 days, allowing for proper acclimatization and enjoyment of the scenic route. Here is a common itinerary for the EBC trek:

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu and prepare for the trek. Acquire necessary permits.

Day 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2,840 meters) and trek to Phakding (2,610 meters). This is a relatively easy walk to begin the trek.

Day 3: Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 meters). This is a challenging day with steep ascents and the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park.

Day 4: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Take a rest and explore the local area. You can hike to Everest View Hotel or visit the Sherpa Culture Museum.

Day 5: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860 meters). The trail offers stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Visit the famous Tengboche Monastery.

Day 6: Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410 meters). The trail descends through forests and crosses several suspension bridges before reaching the village of Dingboche.

Day 7: Acclimatization day in Dingboche. Take a short hike to Nangkartshang Peak (5,083 meters) for better acclimatization and panoramic views.

Day 8: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940 meters). The trail passes through the village of Dughla and offers views of the Khumbu Glacier.

Day 9: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,164 meters), and continue to Everest Base Camp (5,364 meters). Explore the base camp and return to Gorak Shep for overnight stay.

Day 10: Hike from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545 meters) for a breathtaking sunrise view over Everest and other Himalayan peaks. Descend to Pheriche (4,240 meters) for the night.

Day 11: Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar. Descend through Pangboche and Tengboche before reaching Namche Bazaar.

Day 12: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla, marking the end of the trekking journey.

Day 13: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu and spend the day in Kathmandu for relaxation or exploring the city.
